Whitney + Michael got married on May 5, 2017, at The Ruby Street, a hip and stylish wedding venue in Highland Park, California. Michael is a cinematographer and Whitney A. is a hilarious sommelier turned on-camera host and consultant. Whitney & Michael cared most about the venue, photography, food, drinks, music and all of their guests having a great time!
Photographer, Michelle Pullman, of Rad + In Love, captured the charm of the venue, the playfulness of Whitney & Michael, the wedding day details, and she got so many great sunset photos in the neighborhood nearby. Moon Canyon designed organic and structural floral arrangements in a neutral color palette that sat in beautiful shallow wood vessels. W + M had their wedding ceremony on the back patio of The Ruby Street under the arch and beautiful blooming trees framed their backdrop. Django Foxtrot, a jazz trio, set the mood as they played the ceremony and cocktail hour music.
CATERING, LIBATIONS & ENTERTAINMENT
Cocktail Hour: During cocktail hour guests listened to jazz on the back patio while munching on cheese and charcuterie station from DTLA Cheese. You know the wine selections must have been delicious since they were curated by Whitney! For dinner, guests moved inside to the reception space. We set the table in a U-shape and they had one of the most fun, energetic, and celebratory grand entrances I have ever seen!
Dinner: We kept the table setting minimal with one floral arrangement, restaurant napkin, dinner plate, knife/fork, water glass, and a cute Bormioli mini wine tumbler that Whitney sourced (and La Pinata Party Rentals kindly added to their rental inventory for us). Guests ate wood-fired pizza and seasonal salads for dinner. Whitney's friend, Joy The Baker, freshly baked derby pie bars and the most delicious brownies you have ever tasted.
Party: Instead of a first dance, we kicked off the party with a champagne tower!! This was my first time setting one up, but Whitney told me it would be easy and she was right:) Whitney poured the champagne and they gave a little thank you speech and got the party moving. Dart Collective got the dance party going and Whitney's mother Sheila worked her magic on the turntables too!

"I wholeheartedly and without reservation recommend Jessica to any bride. She was so on top of EVERYTHING (and this is coming from a type A planner of a bride) and I felt completely safe in her hands. I had no worries that she would take care of everything on the day and from the get-go, she understood us as a couple and what we were hoping to achieve. So many people have complimented us on throwing such a laid back, easy, grown-up-but-fun wedding. Some even said it was one of the best weddings they had ever gone to! We love Jessica!" - Whitney A.
