WEDDING PLANNING & DESIGN
Photographer, Evangeline Lane, and I teamed up with Miss Rockabilly Ruby, Erika Reno Artistry, and Of the Flowers for an Elopement Giveaway. Our winner would receive wedding planning services, photography, hair & makeup, and a wedding bouquet & boutonniere! Evangeline and I sifted through loads of amazing applications and Stephanie & Raul were our lucky winners!
Stephanie & Raul could not have been more grateful for the opportunity and their enthusiasm and appreciation inspired me to plan an elopement that I thought would be absolutely perfect for them! I knew it had to be a retro-fabulous affair and I was totally up for the task! As a vintage lover myself, I was so excited to bring this Culver City retro elopement to life!
Stephanie & Raul have a love for the Rockabilly subculture and Old Hollywood history. Stephanie was inspired by Miss Rockabilly Ruby's wedding as well as Erika Reno's custom Pinupgirl elopement dress. It was so perfect that she was able to have two of her favorite vintage hair & makeup pros, do her hair and makeup for her very own wedding!
Stephanie wore a black "Monica Mermaid Gown" from Pinupgirl clothing and a custom veil by Niccoco Creations. Raul wore a red velvet jacket that he purchased at Santee Alley in Downtown Los Angeles with Stacy Adams Wingtips. They looked like Old Hollywood movie stars!
I had never heard of a composite bouquet until Stephanie requested one from Felisa at Of The Flowers for her vintage elopement. "A composite wedding bouquet resembles a giant flower but is created by painstakingly assembling the petals from many flowers with florist's glue. The effect takes great skills to achieve". Check out the photos below because it was spectacular.
The Culver Hotel is one of my favorite places in all of Los Angeles! I got engaged there back in 2012 in the velvet lounge. I knew that Stephanie + Raul would love it, in all of its Art Deco glory! I scoped out the Beverly Hills Civic Center "Boat Court" and I was able to pull a "photography permit" for the elopement. Good thing I did, because we were greeted by police within 5 minutes of arriving. The Boat Court is directly behind the Beverly Hills police department and it was a beautiful back drop for our ceremony.
I remember calling my mom on the way home from this wedding and crying to her. I felt so lucky and humbled to be a part of such a beautiful life event with this loving and grateful couple. The beauty of the day and their love for each other overwhelmed me. Stephanie + Raul will always have a special piece of my heart!
"I had the pleasure of having Jessica from Art and Soul Events plan our elopement and it was MAGICAL! I never thought planning a wedding/elopement could be fun. I'm a terrible planner! Jessica made it fun from the start to end! I was even extremely sad that I wouldn't be in constant contact with her. She truly makes you like a friend or even family. She made our Los Angeles retro elopement BEAUTIFUL! She will forever be special to me for giving us the most amazing day of our lives. She really covers everything and is SUPER PREPARED! Our day went so smooth because she was on top of things and didn't miss a thing. I am forever grateful for such a beautiful and caring person! She was meant for this and I totally recommend her services for any event. Whether it's an elopement, party, or a wedding, Jessica is your go to gal! You will not regret it because she is totally worth every penny. She will help you keep your sanity, be your wedding bestie, and will help walk you through each and every step." - Stephanie "
