HEATHER + JACOB
Heather + Jacob got married on October 14th, 2017, at The Ruby Street, one of my favorite wedding venues in Highland Park, California. Jacob is a creative director and Heather is a writer & director of content marketing. They cared most about the venue, delicious food, specialty cocktails, music, and entertaining their guests with fun interactive activities. Mandee Johnson Photographed the day and she so beautifully captured the sweet and silly love between Heather + Jacob.
Wedding Venue: The Ruby Street, Highland Park, California
Wedding Priorities: Venue, Food, Music, Guest Experience
Wedding Style: Cocktail Party, Celestial, Magical, Fun, Vintage, Bohemian
Wedding Colors: Merlot, Navy, Gold, Deep Green, Creamy Blush
Guest Count: 135
Heather + Jacob incorporated a celestial lunar element into the overall wedding design. Jacob, the Groom, designed amazing custom wedding invitations, programs, bar signs, food signs, a welcome sign, and he co-designed a custom deck of playing cards. Look closely and you'll see that the King and Queen on the playing card favors are illustrations of Heather + Jacob.
Hello Honey Flower Co. incorporated Merlot dahlias, deep green foliage, pink & cream accent blooms, with navy and dusty blue elements into the overall floral design. Heather's beautiful bouquet was bold and textured. Heather + Jacob had a Jewish wedding ceremony on the back patio of The Ruby Street and Amy created a beautiful floral accent on the chuppah.
CATERING & COCKTAILS
Heather + Jacob opted for a cocktail party wedding. They didn't have a traditional sit- down dinner with assigned seats. Guests mingled and ate throughout the night. Amy's Culinary Adventures prepared a variety of passed appetizers. Amy also created a beautiful cheese station, a salad bar, and an artisan dessert display. We served 3 signature cocktails; Ginger's Last Kiss (vodka), Talent Scout (bourbon), and an Old Cuban (rum)!
Guests were blown away impressed by magician Robert Ramirez. He regularly performs at the Magic Castle and he brought the magic to Ruby Street. Guests were also treated to tarot readings by Vardot Tarot. And as if that wasn't enough entertainment, they also had a Paper Moon Shoppe Photo Booth!
DJ Ian from Redshoe LA kept the guests dancing and the party moving. We worked together on the development of Heather + Jacob's timeline to ensure the cocktail party flow was just right!

"Jessica was amazing to work with, both leading up to, and on the day. She is completely professional while remaining personal throughout the entire experience with both my husband and me, as well as with our families. Jessica is a total pro with amazing vendor relationships. Aside from being organized, collected, and on top of her game, Jessica also has creative vision and can help bring your wedding dreams to life, no matter how much or little you choose to involve her. She was flexible in services and budget-friendly recommendations, really proving that she had our best interest in mind. She's the best!" - Heather
