Art & Soul Events designed and planned a moody and romantic cocktail party inspired wedding at Seventh Place, a new venue in the Arts District of Downtown Los Angeles. Think graffiti walls, bold and textural floral design from Foxtail Florals, and an eclectic Thrifted Sister lounge. Photography by Jes Workman!Read More
When the Thrifted Sister girls tossed out the idea of going on a desert wedding venue crawl, I couldn't turn them down! Claudia, Nikki, Crystal, and I packed up the car and hit the road for the desert! We met up with the fabulous Alissa, of Alissa Noelle Photography, in Palm Springs and she documented our adventures!
We started our crawl at the beautiful and serene Korakia Pensione. We were given a tour of the enchanted grounds and then took a few quick snaps under the beautiful bougainvillea. It's one of my bucket-list dream venues. Call me?!
Next, we headed over to the ACE Hotel to get the party started! We ordered a few rounds of delicious grapefruit margaritas and grabbed a booth in the Amigo Room. Then we headed out to the "wish you were here" sign where Alissa gave us an impromptu "lifestyle" posing class. That girl sure knows how to work her cute little bod. I quickly learned, that in order to take a good picture, you will likely look ridiculous in the moment. My biggest posing lesson of the weekend was... when in doubt, look at Claudia! Claudia taught us the hair swing, boomerang strut, and how to throw a peace sign when you don't know what to do with your arm.
Next up, we headed over to Norma's at the Parker Palm Springs for a late lunch. Luckily for us, Crystal was pregnant and willing to be our designated driver for the weekend. We ordered another round and then took a quick tour of the property at sunset.
We then jumped in the car and drove to Pioneertown in the high desert. The awesome new owners of Rimrock Ranch, Eric + Gwen, welcomed us into their home with tacos and wine! After we had dinner and settled into our rooms, we all met around the fire to make s'mores and drink wine! I can't think of a better way to end our amazing day. A few of us got up to watch the incredible desert sunrise before we had coffee and hit the road.
I'm so thankful that Nikki, Crystal, Claudia, Alissa, and I said yes to this adventure. I hadn't been on a girls trip since before Jordan was born. I didn't even know how bad I needed that time to be an adult and have some fun! Big huge thanks to Alissa Noelle Photography for capturing our desert venue crawl!
As a mama and a creative entrepreneur, I know how hard it can be to attend networking events when you have childcare conflicts. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of hosting a HoneyBook parent appreciation party at The COOP! The COOP is an awesomely fun play and party space for kids and adults. The owners, Lucinda & Juliet, created a space that adults enjoy hanging out in as much as the kids do. Every nook and cranny of the COOP is super stylish. They have free wifi, a full espresso bar, and magazines for the parents to enjoy. And for the kids, they have an enormous ball pit, a 2-story curly slide, a super cool rope climbing tunnel, and a bounce house!
It was so fun to spend the day with creatives that I admire while really getting to bond about parenthood. The kids had SO MUCH FUN!! Thank you HoneyBook for empowering me to plan this special day. You have my heart because you care so deeply about your creative community.

Last week, I had the pleasure of leading another Tuesdays Together West LA meetup. We met in Brentwood on the patio of Fleurish and chatted while sipping Alfred's coffee and eating Suzy Bakes cupcakes. We had a nice group of 16, 13 of which were new to the meet up.
If you're unfamiliar with the Rising Tide Society, their mission is to educate & empower creatives to thrive in the spirit of community over competition. Tuesdays Together, is "a meetup on the second Tuesday of every month where creatives + entrepreneurs gather together for coffee and conversation. An open space for idea sharing and goal building."
Our topic for the January meetup was reset and goal-setting. We talked about what we did right in 2015 and our plans for 2016. We shared our struggles and our successes! We all walked away with a new connection and a new tool for our business. The meetup was a big success and I can't wait for February!
